Van Fleet Aviation is located at the Hickory NC with satellite school at Morganton Lenoir Foothills Regional Airport in western NC. Flying has been my passion for many years and I enjoy teaching people to fly. I have been instructing since 1986, flew for the University of Georgia and instructed in the King Air 200 for Flight Safety International in Atlanta Georgia before I started my own flight school in 2002. For whatever reason the student wishes to fly, for pleasure, business, travel or to pursue a career in aviation, it will be a safe, enjoyable learning experience to accomplish your goals. I have a total of 7500 hours flying and 4300 hours instructing. I have two Cessna 172s that I instruct in and teach almost everyday and a Cessna 172 XP Amphibian seaplane that I instruct in for the seaplane rating. The cost for the Cessna 172 is $110. The cost for instruction is $40 an hour for private, $50 an hour for instrument. The Cessna 172 XP Amphibian is $235 an hour with instruction. The student from the first lesson forward is learning mountain flying as it is incorporated into the instructional program.
